Toxic Air Fresheners

Updated: Jul 29, 2022

Most conventional air fresheners purchased from the supermarket contain chemicals that have been linked to a series of health challenges including thyroid problems, hormone disruption and learning difficulties.

They are believed to also be linked to cancerous DNA mutations and asthma. Chemical sprays, plug-ins and gels for the home are very popular, but investigators warn that they contain many harmful substances which may cause lung damage and tumors.

Many air fresheners contain substances called Volatile Organic Compounds (aka VOCs). These substances form gas at room temperature and experts warn that these can increase the risk of asthma in children.

Make the switch to essential oils!

Diffusing in your home 100% pure, therapeutic grade essential oils is the obvious choice most people make.

A popular favourite is the Thieves essential oil blend. Thieves is a safe, natural alternative you can diffuse in the home or office to help kill airborne bacteria, eliminate foul smells and freshen the air.

Try adding a few drops of Thieves oil to a water spray bottle to use as a room deodoriser and as a bedding and furniture spritzer instead of conventional fabric deodoriser sprays.
